Lawrence Paul Yuxweluptun is an artist who likes to make provocative statements with his art. I thought it would be interesting to ask him about his opinions on the Indian Act because one time he protested the Indian Act by shooting a paper copy of it with a gun. He did not respond to my questions. One statement he made online is: "I try to make an ugly painting that is beautiful and I try to make a beautiful painting that has something ugly to say."
