Our family has friends in Tofino, and whenever we go to Tofino to visit them, we always stop in Roy Henry Vickers little gallery. I love his art. I find it so cool how there are slightly transparent traditional native style symbols behind his nature landscapes. I also found out that he is colour blind! To still be able to make such beautiful art is crazy. My next door neighbour owns one of his paintings and when I told him I was trying to contact Vickers, he told me that apparently in 2010 he was in Vancouver for the Olympics and his family got to meet him. I thought that was pretty cool. I used a lot of his art for the background of this website.
I messaged his facebook page, and whoever runs that said they forwarded my questions to Roy Henry Vickers and gave him my e-mail. He never responded though.
